Today we have more Information about how I brain work then we did in 1950. I told you about what Sperry discovered back on day 3 and I aiming to keep learning how to use more of my creative side of the brain in everyday life. Day 6 I talked about how Daniel Pink notice we are moving in a conceptual age and we will have to tap into our six sense. I believe this to be true because when you look at how people are using social media today he is right in line. Let’s find out how his is true today.
One of these sense he talks about is Design. We don’t want something that just function we like to things that sticks out to us and draws us in. Look at the way we are designing our vehicle. They use to be so predictable but now, a Dodge Charger from the 70’s looks nothing like one in 2018. Just take time to look around you and look how things are designed. From the furniture, floors, ceiling, the chair you are maybe are sitting in. Our brain like to process something that is designed differently.
Another example, look at some people Instagram pages. You will see certain people have patterns on how they post pictures and videos. One column may have quotes designed with a special background that is tied back to there brand. The other column may just have a random photo of a recent event. Each column vertically has a certain pattern.
Let’s look at another senses he refer to as Story. We don’t want just a argument we want a compelling story. Facebook mission statement reads “Facebook's mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. People use Facebook to stay connected with friends and family, to discover what's going on in the world, and to share and express what matters to them.” Recently they went under investigation because some people believe they were misusing Facebook users information. Mark Zunkerberg was in court under heavy investigation were all he had was his founder heart and a cup of less water.
In a one minute, Facebook explain what they stood for, the problem they faced and how they planned to get back on track. At the end the narrator said “when this place it used what is is build for, we all get a little closer.” This one minute video was a compelling story that was used to persuade people Facebook is still safe.
This is how we view people videos everyday. Videos are used on social media to persuade other on there company, brand, team, or just them as a individual. This is how social media will always be used.
